Do you love cumbia artists like La Sonora Dinamita? Colombian cumbia music is super! Cumbia Vallenata is cool, and maybe you've heard the Latino Cumbia Boys - they're great, too. Vallenato is a popular offshoot of traditional cumbia that has four styles within it: son, paseo, merengue, and puya. Two delightful vallenato artists are Sidestepper and Carlos Vives, who made this old form of cumbia music sound totally new.
Here is the super cumbia hit, "La Cumbia del Rio", by Los Pikadientes de Caborca! Vamos a bailar cumbia!

Argentina Cumbia: the new ElectroTango Fusion
Cumbia from Argentina and Experimental Cumbia from artists like Dick El Demasiado. One of the coolest new hit electro tango albums is El Miedo a la Libertad, by Tanghetto. It's right up there with some of the best albums by Gotan Project and Bajofondo Tango Club. Everybody knows that Bajo Fondo's electro tango is the hottest sound. Electrotango music fans: Have you heard of the Argentina cumbia artist Dick El Demasiado? Originally he came from the Netherlands, but now lives in Buenos Aires. His sound is called experimental cumbia, or las cumbias experimentales. His groundbreaking album is called “No Nos Dejamos Afeitar”, and it's not old-fashioned cumbia, but something entirely new and innovative. Click on this link to see a super electro tango video.....
